--When did you start drawing?
Not sure, probably around second grade.
--Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right. I try the left one too sometimes. I wish I was ambidextrous.
--Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Male-ish? *gets shot for vague answer*
--Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Long hair. Flowy lines @.@ Ugh, hate drawing short hair, it’s so boring.
--Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right
or the left?
Don’t have much of a problem drawing faces facing right anymore, but there was a time when it was difficult for me.
--Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the
front view?
Profiles? (half the work?). Don’t have to worry about the symmetry of the features, jawline etc.
--What do you have problems in drawing?
The question should have been “What do you not have trouble drawing?” In that case the answer would have been “not much”
--What do you like to draw?
Hair, portraits, gestures, flowy, sinewy, organic things.
--Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
A bit of both, I post a lot of digital stuff because it’s easier to complete. Traditional stuff is usually too sketchy and not very upload-worthy.
--Where do you start drawing from?
My drawings usually starts with a super-loose quick sketch and are then gradually refined .
--What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
If I’m not excited enough about a drawing I lose interest – fast (short attention span). I also tend to stick my tongue out when I’m concentrating really hard
(which is rare)--What do you keep in mind when you do lineart?
Fluidity of the line.
--Any tips for coloring/shading?
Observing how light behaves in real life helps?
--How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
Anywhere from a day (not many breaks) to a week (many, many breaks)
--What music do you listen to while you draw?
Mostly it’s metal and good old hard rock (80’s-ish). (Another reason I can’t draw short hair)
--How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Not too long, sometimes they’re rather instantaneous. Then as it is with most ideas I explore the possibilities and the end result might even turn out to be something entirely different from the original idea.
--Your favorite drawing utensils?
Pencil, paper, markers, watercolors, ballpoints and ofcourse digital media.
--Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Not sure, it changes a lot. Brown and sepia maybe?
--Your favorite style(s)?
I'm not too picky with styles... but I have a preference for realistically proportioned yet somewhat stylized and painterly, like a combination of impressionism and art nouveau with some pop art thrown in?. Did I mention I like flowiness??
(Or you could cross Egon Schiele's style with Alphonse Mucha's... that sounds nice?)
Art movements? Pop art, surrealism, romanticism, impressionism, abstract expressionism.
--Are you satisfied with your current art?
Ofcourse not!--What kind of artist are you aiming for?
The kind who’s comfortable with drawing what she likes drawing and earns a respectable living from it :/ (which is so not happening right now!)
